Your whole game plan revolves around playing huge creatures and doing big mana things, so if you fail to get to the point where you can cast your commander, let alone some of the bigger dinosaurs, then youre just a sitting duck waiting for your turn to be killed
It's very close to what would eventually become Treasure with the one exception that it didn't have to tap when you sacrificed it
Recursion is however super good in most formats and singleton ones cherish it dearly
