本スタンダードでは，基板

本スタンダードは同期および非同期メッセージのメッセージヘッダ，あるいは「エンベロープ」情報の作成に必要なXMLによる構造を規定する。本件はSEMIスタンダードに準拠するアプリケーションで，非同期メッセージ通信を使うものにのみ適用する。XMLはタグを使って情報を伝文化する様なソフトウエアアプリケーションに使われるが，そのタグはXMLスキーマで指定される構造とデータ型を与えてくれるものである。XMLはアプリケーション間で配送したり，経路の指定に必要な情報を構造化する用途としても使われる。個々に開発して多数の互換性のないXML用のプロトコルになってしまうのを避けるためにメッセージヘッダの標準化が必要である。本仕様を「XMLメッセージ通信に関する仕様」と呼ぶこととする。
